Hi everybody! This is Emily K. with an update involves our online store, Anime Detour, our upcoming events, and Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Series.

Online Store: If you haven’t already seen our new and improved online store, go check it out! We are constantly adding products every day! Our shipping is pretty inexpensive; we have added an option to pay for your order online and pick it up at one of our local events. There are special products that you may have never seen before at our booth. We just got some new Fullmetal Alchemist, Shugo Chara, Pokemon, Death Note, Lucky Star, Gurren Lagann, Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler), and so much more!

Events Page: I’ve updated the Events Page on our website. Now all of our events are listed through July 2010. Please read the info at the top part of the events page because we are trying some new things.

Anime Detour: Speaking of events, are you going to Anime Detour 2010? It’s going to be fun! Pre-registration is closed, but there are still a handful of at-the-door registrations available.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TAS: We recently went to Anime Milwaukee where Kari and I got to meet LittleKuriboh, the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Series! I don’t think I’ve ever fangirled like that in my life. Anywho, after the convention, LittleKuriboh had made a post on his website’s updates thanking us for helping their booth out. =D No, you guys, THANK YOU for keeping the fandom alive!! And Kroze, thanks for coming to conventions and selling your shirts =3

Event Reformatting

Hi everybody! Again, I’m sorry for such a late post about our next event (it’s happening this Saturday!). As I’ve mentioned in the past, we’re looking to relocate our events and we’re still searching for a new space. Moving forward we are going to be slowly restructuring the way we hold events. The first thing we’re going to do is restructure our admission pricing and food-providing policies. Please keep this in mind as we announce new events – be sure to read through all of the information we post.

03/20/2010 – Marching Toward Detour
Date: Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Valentine’s Day is a day of love, romance and couples sharing their deep feelings with eachother… but who cares about that!? Everybody who’s ever come to one of our February events knows what Valentine’s Day is truly about: A PASSION FOR ANIME! And sweets.
In Japan, there is a holiday called White Day celebrated on March 14th. Since our March event won’t be until March 20th, we’re going to roll both events into this one! VALENWHITE’S DAY!!
Please bring cookies and cakes and brownies and delicious sweets baked or purchased with love if you can!

Didnt you guys just love the last event?! Aren’t lockins just amazing?! Wasnt it just spiffy?!

…Yeah, well, dont get used to it. It takes a lot to keep us all up that late, and even more to just remain standing. xD. However, you all did a great job on keeping everyone energized and awake the entire night!

This event is scheduled during the day, and you all know what that means, right?

BTW, If you are interested in the snowball fight (which will be amazing by epic proportions) please, please be respectful and bring extra clothes for you to change into. Also, gloves, scarves, jackets and shoes are all required for you to be playing outside in the cold weather with. We dont want to have to explain to your parents why you’re missing a thumb and that its ok, we got it on ice in the back. ‘Nawmean?

So, please bring extra clothes to change into after you get your other ones wet, because they will get wet, and we like to keep the church clean, otherwise the big guy on the wall might get a lil mad.

Anyways, please invite all your friends! I’m so pumped and excited for this event!

New Year’s Eve Lock-In

Rare Type: Lock-In; meaning from PM to AM. We only host lock-ins on rare occasions.
When: Thurs. December 31st 2009 @ 7pm until Fri. Jan. 1st, 2010 @ 6am.

Cost: $15; bring food or a bottled, non-alcoholic beverage to share and get $5 off. Remember that this is a lock-in, so if you have a special needs diet that is requires something other than pizza and junk food we recommend you bring it for yourself.
Volunteer: Do you fancy yourself a night owl? Are you able to stay awake and energetic throughout the whole night and not let it slow you down? Do you proudly represent yourself, your family, your community, your school and everything you’re involved with by setting an example of good behavior? If so, you may have what it takes to be volunteer material and we love our volunteers! Well friends, now there’s a solution to all of these problems! Eagle Anime’s “Christmahanakwanzika Gift Bazaar Spectacular” is a manifestation of things anime fans love most: anime events, anime from your childhood, and most importantly, other anime fans!

We want you to bring the parts of your collection you want to find new homes for so you can sell and trade with other collectors! Whether your items are loved, mint condition or anywhere in between, you never know who might want what you have to offer!

Table space is limited, so please post on the wall here with a list of things you think you might want to sell! I will be setting up a similar thread in the Anime Detour Forums. PLEASE INVITE YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!

The Eagle Anime Express Store will be open through the duration of the event, so you can tell you friends and family to come and buy stuff for you!

Have you heard of the Snuggie? If you haven’t – oh man – goto YouTube (I recommend Jack’s Films’ WTF Blanket Parody) right now and look at the infomercials, because it’s one of the most hilarious as-seen-on-TV products ever made! Anywho, you probably think it’s stupid unless you’re a person that uses one, in which case I’m sorry if I offended you, but there’s good news!

Now you can love your WTF Blanket even more now that science has made the new WTF Blanket: Anime Edition! Don’t believe me? Check out this out:

Important Information Update EAHM2009

Last time, on Eagle Anime’s event updates, Emily posted information about the Halloween Masquerade, which is taking place November 14th, 2009. Since then, important announcements were made at the October Event about some exciting things you should look forward to. The gang got to make their own name badges to bring to events and Dylan Stuart attained a special status which involves more responsibility but comes with great advantages!

Today: If you’re planning on going to Eagle Anime’s Halloween Masquerade 2009, but have not yet pre-registered, you should! We are extending the pre-registration date to November 11th, but anybody who pre-registered before November 1st gets a prize point. Remember that there is no outside food or beverage allowed at this event, because it is at a hotel. However we are providing free pop to attendees. If you plan on being at our event the whole time, please think ahead and pack a lunch/dinner for yourself that does not need microwaving or bring some extra cash to eat at surrounding restaurants with the normal food-run groups (if you’re a minor, be sure to get your parents’ permission to leave for food, because this is not a lock-in, we cannot stop you from leaving).

Eagle Anime’s Halloween Masquerade 2009!
When?: Saturday, November 14th 1pm-11pm
Where?: Holiday Inn

Cost: $20 at the door, but Pre-register before November 11th and it’s only $15!
Payment: Payment can be made through our online store, but if you need to pay by cash or check, please contact Emily via the info below. The sooner the better =3
Food: Attendees may bring pre-packaged candy (trick-or-treating candy) to share. Due to contractual obligations that the hotel has with their cooperative restaurant, we cannot allow outside food aside from the candy, which means our evening pizza will not be allowed. However, Eagle Anime will be providing all attendees with free pop that we get from the hotel’s restaurant. Long story short: pack yourself a lunch if you plan on being there the full time.
You may arrive later than 1pm if you choose, but if you wish to enter the Masquerade, 3pm is the latest we can take entries!

Pokémon: Arceus @ Toys “R” Us Event

Today’s update is split into two parts: Arceus Event + Movie News and Halloween Masquerade News.

According to PokemonPlatinum.com, November 7th through November 15th, Arceus will be given out at select Toys “R” Us stores. Here’s how you receive Arceus at Toys “R” Us:
*Visit your nearest participating Toys “R” Us store location in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
*You must have a Nintendo DS™ and an English version of Pokémon™ Diamond Version, Pokémon™ Pearl Version, or Pokémon™ Platinum Version
*You will need to have obtained the Pokedex in your game
*You cannot have more than two Wonder Cards. If you do, you’ll need to delete one before receiving Arceus
*You can only get one Arceus on each Pokémon™ Diamond Version, Pokémon™ Pearl Version, or Pokémon™ Platinum Version game card

In other Pokémon news, an official US site for the 12th Pokémon movie - ”Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life” aka “Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl the Movie: Arceus: To the Conquering of Space-Time” - has been launched. You can find it at www.pokemonarceus.com. “Arceus and the Jewel of Life” will make its debut November 20th, 2009 on Cartoon Network.

Eagle Anime has been selling Arceus plush like crazy over on Amazon. Everybody really wants a tiny Arceus plush I guess! We will have Arceus for our shopping cart next Monday, November 9th.
